Targeting a LEED® Silver certification

Studio Bell is the new home of the National Music Centre in Calgary, Alberta. This iconic structure houses musical artifacts and offers exhibits, education, and performance facilities for the public to enjoy. The facility’s design was imagined as a living instrument, incorporating curved walls and towering arches throughout, and it’s bridged to the restored historic King Edward hotel across the street.

This $191 M, five-storey facility totaling 14,865 m2 is dedicated to all forms of Canadian music, promoting creative arts within the City. With five floors of exhibition space, there is an impressive collection of musical instruments, equipment and artifacts that span over 450 years of technology and innovation; Canadian music memorabilia; and three Canadian music halls of fame.

Not only is The Studio Bell a museum, there is also a concert hall/theatre, a restaurant/lounge live music venue space, and various recording studios, as well as office/administrative spaces on the upper levels. Project is targeted for LEED® Silver certification.
