
The Tsuu T'ina (formerly Sarcee), an Athabaskan nation with 2,500 residents, occupy a 283-square-kilometre reserve directly west of Calgary. Treaty 7 signatories since 1877, they have developed significant economic assets including Grey Eagle Casino and the Taza residential development while maintaining cultural continuity, traditional governance structures, Athabaskan language and heritage, and self-determination in the region today.
