Alexandra comes to SMP from the theatre and entertainment industry, where she spent 25 years as a production manager, lighting designer, and programmer. She was the production manager for Calgary's Shakespeare Company and for the High Performance Rodeo, Calgary's international, interdisciplinary performing arts festival.
Over her career, she has designed more than 100 music, dance, and theatre productions and has received multiple nominations for Betty Mitchell Awards (Calgary's performing arts awards) for Outstanding Lighting Design.
Alexandra joined SMP's Lighting Design team in October 2025, bringing an advanced understanding of high-level programming and DMX protocol along with a deep passion for sustainable design. She holds an MA in drama from the University of Toronto and a Graduate Diploma in Directing from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia.
When she's not prescribing lumen packages and delving into TM-30, she plays flute and piccolo for the Foothills Concert Band and parents two children, a big black cat, and a bigger yellow dog.
