As SMP Engineering's Proposal Lead, Iris Young brings together people, ideas, and expertise to produce clear and compelling proposals. She specializes in translating complex technical input into structured, persuasive submissions that communicate the value of SMP's offerings to clients with clarity.

Iris holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and a Diploma in Journalism, supported by a background in writing, editing, and communications. This blend of the technical and the editorial allows her to approach proposal development with both analytical precision and narrative clarity.

She is also focused on the efficient and practical implementation of AI within proposal processes, creating more streamline workflows while maintaining consistency, quality, and precision in submissions.

Iris is shaped by her lifelong connection to water and loves freediving, swimming, and paddleboarding. She bakes bread from scratch, plays music on her guitar, and has never quite grown out of being a musical theatre kid. She values travel and welcomes new experiences, most recently taking up skiing since relocating to Alberta. While Iris leads SMP's proposals, at home, her cats are firmly in charge.
