SMP Engineering designed the electrical systems for George Freeman K-9 School & Fieldhouse in Strathmore, AB, a state-of-the-art facility featuring a fieldhouse with 2 gymnasiums and an elevated running track.
The new K-9 school was designed to accommodate 500 students and includes offices, classrooms, and CTS spaces. The attached fieldhouse was designed to include two gymnasiums, two artificial turf facilities, and an elevated running track.
Though facilitated through a Construction Management project delivery model, the team adopted collaborative project delivery processes, including Big Room sessions with key participants and integrated work processes, and jointly developed and validated targets, which resulted in a successful culmination of the project.
