Steven Holland, P.Eng., is a Partner at SMP Engineering. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Steven brings extensive expertise in building systems design and major capital project delivery across Western Canada.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary, with a focus on power distribution networks, and completed an extensive international exchange program at Technische Universität Berlin. He is a registered professional engineer with APEGA, EGBC, and APEGS.
Throughout his career, Steven has contributed to a wide range of notable projects including the MacKimmie Complex Redevelopment at the University of Calgary, the National Music Centre in Calgary, The Dorian Hotel, River Landing East and Nutrien Towers in Saskatoon, the Schulich School of Engineering Expansion, and major hospitality developments such as the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino Expansion and River Cree Resort and Casino Hotel and Conference Centre Expansion.
At SMP Engineering, Steven focuses on major capital project oversight and client relations. His approach emphasizes a deep understanding of stakeholder needs and constraints, enabling project teams to deliver practical and reliable electrical system solutions. Steven values strong working relationships built on trust, open communication, and successful project delivery.
Outside of work, he enjoys golf, international travel, and volunteering in youth football while mentoring the next generation of engineers.
