Discover Soraya Hafez Elementary School, a state-of-the-art Edmonton facility for 600 K-6 students, featuring 21st century learning spaces and sustainable design targeting LEED Silver certification.
Completed through an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model, the Soraya Hafez School can accommodate up to 600 elementary students in grades K-6. Designed utilizing 21st century learning concepts, each area of the school was considered for use as a learning space. Targeting LEED Silver certification, this project integrated many sustainable initiatives, including onsite power generation through solar photovoltaic (PV) design. The solar PV system was designed around Alberta Learning parameters, providing the students with the opportunity to understand when and how the panels are operating, as well as other metrics.
