Working in the building and construction industry, Derek focuses on electrical engineering design in close collaboration with developers, architects, and construction teams to deliver practical, efficient solutions.

Known as a people-oriented professional, Derek is a regular presence at project events and networking functions, helping connect technical engineering design with the realities of construction and the relationships that drive it. He also gives back to his profession as a board member with Consulting Engineers of Alberta and the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of Canada.

Outside of work, Derek enjoys golf and time at sporting and social events, and values family, health, and staying active. A practical decision-maker, he pairs analytical thinking with everyday problem-solving, and brings the same curiosity, spanning interests from finance and cars to fitness and nutrition, to both his professional and personal life.
