SMP Engineering designed the electrical systems for Don Campbell Elementary School in Red Deer, a LEED Silver certified facility serving 500 students with community-focused spaces.
Don Campbell Elementary School is a new facility designed and constructed to accommodate 500 students from pre-Kindergarten to grade 5, with a potential growth for up to 600 students. Not only does this new school function as an educational facility, but it also provides space for various community partnerships. After hours and weekend use by the community formed part of the overall design aspect.
Additionally, the possibility of enlarging the library space to become a part of the Red Deer Public Library was evaluated. This school achieved LEED Silver certification. As such, ASHRAE Guideline 0 was used to detail the process for achieving, verifying, and documenting the performance of the facility.
