SMP Engineering contributed to Innovation Crossing at Heritage Park, a low-carbon interpretive centre with interactive exhibits and sustainable design, showcasing Alberta's natural resources.
Completed in 2021, the 4,940 ft2 single-storey building is a low-carbon, year-round interpretive centre complete with an exhibition hall designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding Heritage Park Historical Village. Incorporating energy generation from a solar/photovoltaic array, among other sustainable efforts, the building includes interactive programs designed to highlight Alberta’s use of natural resources and set an example of environmental stewardship for generations to come.
