University of Calgary's MacEwan Ballroom, a 6,000 ft² multi-use space, was renovated in 2019 with energy-efficient LED lighting, backlit slats, and multi-use controls, perfect for hosting live musical performances, corporate events, and more.
Built in 1967, this 6,000 ft2 multi-use space is known as the MacEwan Ballroom. Over the past 50+ years, this space has hosted a wide range of events, including exams, classes, weddings, corporate events, and tradeshows. The venue is designed to be flexible to accommodate a variety of event types and is best known for hosting live musical performances.
Completed in 2019, the newly renovated space contains backlit slats that flow from one side of the room to the other, connecting the space visually through various lighting options controlled through multi-use lighting controls. Integrated into the slats are energy-efficient LED lighting strips that can be programmed to change the atmosphere with the touch of a button.

I have worked with Greg and Quinn for several years now. We have done many projects both large and small, and I am always really happy with the results. We have developed a great working relationship over the years. I look forward to more project collaboration with SMP in the future.
