SMP Engineering designed the electrical systems for Meadow Ridge K-9 School in Okotoks, Alberta, a 6,782 m² LEED Silver certified facility with a 150kW solar array.
The new 6,782 m2 elementary and junior high school was designed and built to accommodate 700 students with full build-out for 900 students. The school features large, open learning concepts mixed with traditional classroom design.
The project achieved LEED® Silver Certification in 2021. Featuring a 150kW Photovoltaic (solar) array that was designed in-house, the system is completed with an educational component included for students and staff to monitor the data in real time.
