SMP Engineering provided electrical design for Athabasca Regional Multiplex's expansion, featuring diverse aquatic facilities and fitness center while maintaining existing operations.
Completed in 2019 through a design-build approach, the 32,786 ft², $15.2M addition provides year-round indoor recreation opportunities for the community, including a 25 m lane pool, leisure pool, lazy river, whirlpool, water slide, dry sauna, change rooms, and a new fitness centre on the second floor. As this project was an addition to the existing facility, SMP’s scope included extensive electrical and building tie-ins while maintaining facility operations.
