Geoff is an Associate and Senior Lighting Designer at SMP, with over 25 years of professional experience in lighting design. His background includes extensive theatrical lighting design and management for theatre, dance, and concert productions, enhanced by his fine arts education.

Certified by the National Council on Qualifications for Lighting Professionals (NCQLP) and an Associate member of the International Association of Lighting Designers, Geoff brings a unique blend of technical expertise and creative vision to SMP. He is an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Calgary chapter, where he contributes to committees, programs, and initiatives that advance the field of lighting design.

Since joining SMP in 2013, Geoff has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s approach to lighting design. As a founding member and Studio Lead of SMP’s in-house lighting studio, launched in 2021, he continues to drive innovative solutions that enhance projects and inspire clients.
