The Genesis Centre includes two indoor field houses (which can be converted into special event spaces), two outdoor soccer fields, gymnasium/event hall (oversized), multi-purpose room (dividable), meeting rooms, and a community kitchen. The facility also encompasses a community and human services area, a branch of the Calgary Public Library, and a YMCA with the following amenities: swimming pool, training pool, on-deck hot tub, fitness and strength workout areas, a running/walking track, gymnasium, climbing wall, fitness studios, quiet room, and steam rooms.

Key issues during design were accessibility and relevance to a large youth population. The Saddletowne branch of the Calgary Public Library is designed to be able to operate independently of the mixed-use facility.
