American Dream Meadowlands is a $5 billion USD entertainment retail complex located on 91 acres of land in New Jersey. Following the purchase of the project by the Triple Five Group in 2011, a 5-acre amusement park, expanded retail space, and an indoor waterpark featuring the world’s largest wave pool were added to the project. SMP was responsible for these additions as well as other added scopes throughout.

Constructed overtop of an interstate highway, the 550,000 ft2 Connector building features four floors of high-end retail space, a food court, and a full NHL-regulation sized ice rink. The rink also features a full theatrical lighting setup that will allow the space to serve as a concert venue.

The 298,000 ft2, Nickelodeon-themed amusement park includes over 20 different attractions, full DMX-controlled theatrical lighting, and a 50 x 500 ft LED wall located on the building’s exterior. The DreamWorks-themed indoor water park covers 216,000 ft2 and includes the world’s largest wave pool and over 50 different water rides. SMP’s Lighting Group assisted with the design of programmable lighting and entertainment systems for both spaces to serve as world-class event venues.
