Electrical Designer / Revit / BIM Technologist

We are seeking a confident, resourceful, and highly motivated Electrical Designer / Revit / BIM Technologist to join our healthcare design team in Calgary, AB.  This dedicated professional will work collaboratively with Engineers, Designers, and other CAD/Revit Technicians to achieve firm-wide goals with a high standard of excellence. 

Duties & Responsibilities

The following outlines the general nature and level of work but is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all activities, duties, and responsibilities required of the role. This role may also be asked to perform other duties, as required:

  • Assist the project teams with the design/drafting of electrical systems for various building facilities, under supervision of a senior electrical designer/electrical engineer.
  • Design assistance may include power distribution, lighting (indoor and outdoor), power generation, life safety (i.e., fire alarm), public address, nurse call, voice/data communications and access control/CCTV systems.
  • Prepare drawings in AutoCAD / Revit, prepare project documentation, and coordinate with Architects and other engineering disciplines. You may also be asked to attend site visits/reviews and meetings.
  • Adhering to company drafting and engineering standards.
  • 1 year of related professional experience preferred. (preference will be given to those with previous construction industry experience and / or drafting experience)
  • Minimum of 1 year working knowledge in Revit ME (Revit 2019 or later versions).
  • Minimum of 1 year working knowledge in AutoCAD (AutoCAD 2018 or later).
  • Background as an Engineer-in-Training, Certified Engineering Technologist, Certified Architectural Technologist, Technologist-in-Training are considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to be effective and timely in performance of tasks.
  • Ability to think and act independently and strategically.
  • Ability to work well in multiple team dynamics and remotely at home or in-person in our Calgary office. Initial training period will require in-person attendance in our Calgary office.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment with constant changing deadlines.


The following are not required and would be considered assets:

  • Drafting Diploma or Revit certification.
  • Working knowledge of electrical design and systems as well as past commercial, retail, office, residential and institutional project experience.
