SMP Engineering upgraded electrical systems for Camrose Aquatic Centre's expansion, featuring competition pool, therapy pool, water attractions, and modernized facilities with enhanced security and lighting.
Completed in 2020, this $17.2M addition and revitalization included a new eight-lane 25m competition pool, in-deck hot tub, accessible shallow depth therapy/education pool, lazy river, children’s play area, water slide, and splash park. The addition included on-deck bleacher seating to accommodate 176 spectators and two multipurpose rooms. Renovations to the existing building included a main lobby refresh, reception and pool dry viewing areas, staff offices, and change room renovations.
SMP’s scope of work included interior and exterior lighting and lighting control upgrades; communications and security system upgrades, including CCTV camera system; life safety systems; and power distribution upgrades, including a new 600V/600A/3-phase incoming power service to accommodate new mechanical and electrical systems for the addition.
