SMP Engineering provided electrical engineering consulting services for the University of Calgary's Schulich School of Engineering modernization and addition, a LEED Gold certified facility featuring collaborative lab spaces, bright studying locations, and innovative learning environments.
The Schulich School of Engineering building at the University’s campus is an engineering complex that includes teaching, engineering research, and administrative and support spaces. The building remained fully occupied and operational throughout the project.
Phase 1 incorporated the modernization of the existing facility, which is approximately 350,000ft2 and consists of six blocks. Key areas of focus included the redesign of the lighting system, addition of emergency power, modernization of the fire alarm system, partial renovation of the telecom system, and miscellaneous renovations to theatres and washrooms.
Phase 2 of the project included a new addition and expansion to the existing portion of the building and renovations to existing spaces not included in Phase 1 of the project.

I have worked with Greg and Quinn for several years now. We have done many projects both large and small, and I am always really happy with the results. We have developed a great working relationship over the years. I look forward to more project collaboration with SMP in the future.
